CHADD are currently recruiting a Young Person’s Alliance Coordinator to join the team in delivering support to young people who are looked after children. The Dudley Young Person’s Alliance is chaired by CHADD, with members Just Straight Talk, Accord Fry, YMCA Black Country Group, Stonewater and Top Church Training; a combination of supported housing & floating support providers and training & mentoring services working to support young people in the borough.

The new post will lead on and coordinate a range of wrap-around support from within the Alliance partnership to young people aged 16 to 19 years who are being resettled in the borough in dispersed housing in the community. Young people will receive support and mentoring to overcome personal challenges, access skills development, training & employment and develop wellbeing and resilience, to build the confidence to thrive independently as an adult.

The successful candidate will ensure that young people seeking support are provided with a safe, supportive and welcoming environment by offering support with housing, benefits, signposting to activities & skills development and assisting them to identify and reach their full potential.

Essential requirements are:
• Working or volunteering experience of supporting young people.
• First class communication skills.
• The ability to organise, motivate and encourage others.

This a full-time position, based on 36 hours per week on average for a fixed contract term of 12-months (with possibility of permanent).

Salary: SCP10 – £20,344 p/a – (hourly rate; £10.87).
