A Netherton taxi firm has dropped off a welcome boost for our domestic abuse refuge in Dudley.
One 4 You Services raised £350 for CHADD, so help us continue to which offer safety for 900 people each year, mostly women and children.
“We work with young people, the elderly and people with disabilities every day. We wanted to recognise that lockdown is tough for people dealing with domestic violence. Supporting CHADD is one way we can do that” explained Abrar Ahmed, one of the owners at the 15 year old taxi and transport business.
“One 4 You Services Ltd frontline staff have been helping local communities through covid-19”, added Mr Ahmed. “We have been delivering food parcels, medicine and school meals to children. If anyone needs free help like this in this difficult time you can ring us on 01384 231660.”
Anna Walsh, our CEO, said. “We’re grateful for support from Abrar and his team. The donations we get from people who live and work locally donations help provide clothing, essential toiletries, bedding, towels and food parcels for women who arrive at our Refuge”.
West Midlands police recorded 1250 incidences of domestic abuse over the Christmas week, a 60% per cent increase on the previous year. They also promoted the ask for ANI programme, which encourages survivors of abuse to use the phrase ANI to get help in public services, particularly their local chemist.
“Lockdown creates the perfect environment for abusers to control their victims. The increases in reported incidences shows that people are desperate to escape what could months or years of abuse, explained Anna Walsh.
