Young Families

Support for Young Families

It’s such a crucial time, the point where young people with young families need independence, but some support.

We support young families to flourish, help them prepare for the next stage, living independently.

It’s not just a roof; each young person and their family has a mentor and access to support from the wider network of the Dudley Young Person’s Alliance.

How we can help

We support you as young people in the same we would at our Foyer, but on top of that we tailor our support to the needs of you as a parent and your family. That would include connecting up parents and their children, organising stay and play and other activities that help build a thriving, friendly community for the families.

We support families from both Dudley Borough and Sandwell.

It’s a lot easier to be the parents we want to be. The support workers are really helpful, especially when you’re doing things for the first time.  It’s an amazing opportunity to get on your feet when you’re stepping out inot the world

Dudley Young Person’s Alliance

CHADD is the lead partner for a bold new alliance of organisations in Dudley. We work together to support young people coming from care or at risk of homelessness.   It’s a collaboration between the young people and five local organisations.

As a group we work alongside Dudley Council to support young people in many different ways. The Alliance helps with some of the absolute basics, like a home when someone is facing homelessness or support to develop life skills such as cooking and money and time management.

But more than that, the Alliance can help with mentoring, mental health support, confidence-building and helping young people find their feet, their place in the world and their sense of direction.
