We are delighted to welcome Guy Carson to our board. Guy has deep experience of estate planning in the NHS. He posted about joining us:

“For a long time, I’ve been fascinated by the connection between our environments and our health. In my work with NHS estates planning, I’ve always believed that NHS buildings should be more than just structures, they should be focal points at the centre of our communities and in doing so, support the crucial work of voluntary and third sector organisations, like CHADD. So, for me it is a privilege to be able to work in CHADD and see the challenges from a different angle.

While you may not be familiar with CHADD, their impact is profound. CHADD is a charitable Housing Association dedicated to supporting some of the most vulnerable in our society, providing critical services like safe housing for domestic abuse survivors, empowering young people, and enabling independent living for older adults and those with learning disabilities. We support around 1,400 people in Dudley each year.

This is a chance to move beyond theory and get experience in addressing real-world challenges. As someone working in NHS estates planning, I understand the crucial role of community organisations in promoting health and well-being. I’m eager to contribute to CHADD’s mission and deepen my understanding of the interplay with wider determinants of health, especially housing, education, employment and supporting people to thrive and grow

Welcome and thank you 🙂
