On Route Foyer

Helping young people find their feet and flourish.
Our On Route Foyer is one part of our how we support young people in Dudley.
The foyer provides a safe, nurturing place for young people experiencing homelessness to live, learn and flourish.
It’s not just a roof, each young person has a mentor and access to support from the wider network of the Dudley Young Person’s Alliance.

Youth Power
The team at the Foyer is committed to collaborating closely with and giving power and influence to young people.
We do this partly through a Foyer Federation programme called Youth Power and partly because it’s the right thing to do. This means we have young people on the steering group for the Dudley Young Person’s Alliance, and we have set up a CHADD wide residents group because our young people wanted to influence our board members.
Recently foyer residents have also taken control of their programme of activities, called RISE and through CHADD Your Voice have started to shape and re- design communal areas in the Foyer.
For more read Tori-Jade Davies’s experience of the Youth Power approach.
Dudley Young Person’s Alliance
CHADD is the lead partner for a bold new alliance of organisations in Dudley. We work together to support young people coming from care or at risk of homelessness. It’s a collaboration between the young people and five local organisations.
As a group we work alongside Dudley Council to support young people in many different ways. The Alliance helps with some of the absolute basics, like a home when someone is facing homelessness or support to develop life skills such as cooking and money and time management.
But more than that, the Alliance can help with mentoring, mental health support, confidence-building and helping young people find their feet, their place in the world and their sense of direction.
